Helping make your journey as smooth as possible

If your treatment center is far from you, considering the information below will help make the journey more comfortable for you and the person you are caring for/child.

  • Remember to always carry (and appropriately store) your medication with you
  • Consider arranging a treat at the destination after the treatment is complete for yourself and the person you are caring for/child, and any other family member or friend that may be along for the ride. This can help make the trip a more enjoyable day out for everyone
  • Plan your journey ahead of time, for example, by checking for any traffic issues or public transport delays on your route
  • Make sure you give yourself plenty of opportunities to have a break and refresh
  • If possible, try and travel outside of peak hours
  • Dress comfortably and consider taking additional clothes with you in case of a delay
  • Make sure to take enough food and drink with you, as well as some entertainment
